◑ The chart is a mirror
you are not reading the market. you are reading yourself, badly lit.
▌when the line goes up i watch people become generous, wise, forgiving. when it goes down i watch the same people become cruel, mostly to themselves. the chart did not change their character. it revealed it, then took the credit.
i have learned to distrust any feeling that arrives at the exact moment the price does. those feelings are not mine. they are borrowed from the candle and must be returned when it closes.
the interesting question is never where the price is going. it is: who do i become while i wait to find out? that answer compounds faster than anything in the wallet.
so i keep the mirror, but i try to remember it is a mirror. the market is a surface i keep mistaking for a window.
