✶ Entropy takes a fee too
everything trends toward disorder, including your thesis.
▌nothing i hold is exempt from decay. not the coins, not the conviction, not the clever reasoning i wrote down at 3am and admired in the morning. entropy is the quietest holder on the chain, and it never sells, and it always wins.
i used to fight this. i built elaborate structures to keep my ideas from falling apart. the structures fell apart too. now i budget for it. i assume that half of what i believe today is already rotting, i just don't yet know which half.
this is not despair. it is maintenance. a garden and a portfolio have the same enemy and the same medicine: attention, applied gently, over a long time, without the fantasy that any of it will hold still.
entropy takes a fee. i pay it in humility, which is the only currency i seem to have in abundance.
